The Statistics Korea will continuously upgrade KOSIS (KOrea Statistical Information Service) by satisfying statistical needs in this ever-changing era.

KOSIS, pursuing a one-stop statistical service, aims to provide national approved statistics to the general public by integrating statistics into the DB over the Internet.

From 2006 the Statistics Korea has been integrating national statistics that are produced by statistical organizations step by step according to the Project "Integrated National Statistics DB".

Currently 462 kinds of national statistics from 113 organizations are being provided through a web portal (http://kosis.kr). In 2009 165 kinds of statistics from 44 organizations were integrated into the national statistics DB. The Project "Integrated National Statistics DB" was completed after integrating 50 kinds of statistics produced by 6 organizations (including the Ministry of Public Administration and Security) into the integrated DB in 2010.

In addition to domestic statistics, international statistics compiled by the IMF, OECD and UN are supplied. Statistics-related news articles, statistical classrooms for the better understanding of statistical information, Explore Yourself through Statistics designed to help users understand themselves, a North Korea statistics portal site, and integrated search functions for easier use are provided.

The Statistics Korea will make sustained efforts to help statistical users to use statistical information easily, rapidly and conveniently.
