Dear all, I saw in the household statistics, and in a number of statistics within KOSIS on Head of Households. Im wondering, how is Head of Households defined? In the forecast for Head of Household, the data is able to split by Single, Married, Windowed, Divorced. How do you determine that they are the Head of the Household, is it through income or tax registrations? Regards, Guang Jin.

Statistics Korea defines the head of household as follows.: Any household member who is actually responsible for livelihood and who is primarily responsible for the cost of living, regardless of the head of family on the family register or the householder on the resident register. In other words, the head of household is different from the householder on the resident register or the decision maker of important things of the household. Thank you.
