Hi, I am doing an analysis on manufacturing costs for specific industries across countries, and would like to request for absolute cost data for the following cost items in the semiconductor and chemicals industries for the past 10 years (2013-2023). Industries of interest: 1. Semiconductors (KSIC10 Code 261 - Manufacture of semiconductor) 2. Chemicals (KSIC10 Code 20 - Manufacture of chemicals and chemical products; except pharmaceuticals and medicinal chemicals) Data items of interest: A. Labour cost (i.e. compensation of employees, remuneration of workers, wages & salaries) B. Utilities cost C. Electricity costs/expenses paid out D. Water costs/expenses paid out E. Rental of building/premises F. Rental of land G. Logistics costs (i.e. Charges paid to other firms for inland transportation of goods and ocean/air/other freight) H. Others (i.e., all other costs) I. Total business costs (i.e., recurring costs of production) J. Real Value Added K. Real Output Would i be able to obtain the above data items please, and if they are already published online, appreciate if you could kindly point me to the weblink please. Thank you. ○ Among manufacturing cost data for semiconductors and chemicals that you asked for, labor costs (compensation of wage workers) are found on the statistical table of the KOSIS website. However, among your data requests from B to K, some datasets are provided on the other website (named MDIS) of Statistics Korea. Other datasets in the Manufacturing and Mining Survey are not disseminated to the general public as follows;
* B, C, D, G, H: On the MDIS webstie, datasets can be retrieved.
** E, F: On the MDIS website, datasets on rent are provided without the split of building and land.
** I, J, K: These datasets are not disseminated to the general users.
○ Labor costs by industry can be queried through the following path on the KOSIS website.
- www.kosis.kr/eng/ → Statistical Database → Mining and Manufacturing
→ Mining and Manufacturing Survey → Register-based → Industry Statistics
→ KSIC 10th Revision → Statistics by province and industry (10 or more workers)
* Settings: by industry → ‘manufacture of chemicals and chemical products; except pharmaceuticals and medicinal chemicals’ and ‘manufacture of electronic components, computer; visual, sounding, communication equipments →Manufacture of semiconductor’ Check → Search
※ However, to sign up for a membership of the MDIS website, every statistical user should get an authentication by using a mobile phone of Korean service provider or I-PIN. In other words, foreigners have the limitations of acess to the MDIS website.
