Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to better understand the items included in the forest products dataset, so I would like to know which classification do you use for forest products and if is there any reference to definitions ( - i.e. how do you distinguish forest mushrooms from agricultural mushroom? By species? By activity?...). Could you please provide any supporting document so to enable me to properly use these data( i.e. compare with other national and international dataset)? Dear Simona Sorrenti, The Survey on the Production of Forest Products covers 'forest products' defined in Article 2 of the Creation and Management of Forest Resources Act and 'forest products to be supported as income sources' defined in Article 8 of the Forestry and Mountain Villages Development Promotion Act. In general, the survey covers all products produced or cultivated in forests (when there is no product name, the product is included in 'Other by-products'.) When cultivated in agricultural land and facilities, only the item with the item name is surveyed. And products cultivated in agricultural land or facilities are included in the survey, only when they have a product name. For example, oak mushrooms are included wherever they are cultivated, ie. forests, agricultural land or facilities. In the meantime, oyster mushrooms and king oyster mushrooms that are cultivated are excluded from the survey. But oyster mushrooms and king oyster mushrooms that are picked from forests are included in the survey as "Other mushrooms". The following webpage displays annual publications titled "Production of Forest Products", which are published by the Korea Forest Service.
