Dear Sir/Madam, Hi, I am Kotaro, a master student planning to use the data in KOSIS for my project. I would appreciate it if you could answer the following two questions regarding the datasets in KOSIS. 1. Can I obtain the following data? - Employed persons by industry (2000-2005) - Employed foreigners or immigrants by industry (2000-2005) I checked every section of the database but could found only the number of workers (in 2000-2005) for construction, transportation and traffic, mining and manufacturing, retail, wholesale, and services. I also need the same information for fishery, agriculture, and possibly for publishing and recycling. At the same time, I am also looking for the number of foreign/migrant workers by industry. I would appreciate it if you could help me figure out where I can obtain these datasets. 2.Does the "No. of workers" include the number of foreign workers? As mentioned above, I could obtain the number of workers in 2000-2005 for some industries. For example, for construction industry, "Construction Industry(1973~2007: 8th Revision)>Industry General(The Number Of Business And Workers, Wages, Sales, Adde Value)>By type of legal organization/classes of industry" includes the information, "No. of workers". Does this "No. of workers" include the number of foreign workers? Thank you very much. Best regards, Kotaro

Dear Kotaro, Thank you for visiting the KOSIS website. 1. Refer to datasets on the Economically Active Population Survey via the following data location. Location: Statistical Database of the English-version KOSIS website > Labor > Economically Active Population Survey * Detailed datasets on employed persons by industry are provided only on the Korean-version website. 2. Please make access to the following data location to find data on the number of foreign workers. Location: Statistical Database > Labor > Survey on Immigrant’s Living Conditions and Labour Force > Survey on Immigrant’s Living Conditions and Labour Force (Based on Resident Population) >Economically Active Population * In the Economically Active Population Survey, datasets on the number of workers include foreign workers. Best wishes, Statistics Korea
