How is the living standard of household measure? What does 93, for instance, mean? Thank you
Answer
Statistics Korea/2022-06-07
Dear Maria Silva, Thank you for visiting the KOSIS website. According to the Bank of Korea in charge of the statistical production of the Consumer Survey Index, the current living standards of a household are computed by asking 2,500 consumers "How are the current living standards of your household compared to 6 months ago?" Consumers reply "get better" or "get worse", which is designed to measure the level of optimism that consumers have about the current standards of living. The figure "above 100" indicates an improvement in the standards of living and "below 100" a deterioration of the standards of living. Warm regards, Statistics Korea
