Hi! I have some questions about the : National housing price trend survey (New) data.

First, what is the unit of the data gathered? It says like 105, but 105 of what?
Also, what does scale mean in the context of the data? Is it related to the size of the houses? If so, what is the different levels/limits between the different scales?
Also, how was the data collected?

Dear Joakim Nordling,

Thank you for visiting the KOSIS website.

The Housing Price Index compares the housing prices at a specific time point with the housing prices in the reference time period.
In the current dataset the housing prices in June 2021 are set as 100 to be compared with prices at a certain time.
The percent change in the Housing Price Index is used when comparing average housing prices between the base period and the comparison period, or between a comparison period and another comparison period.

The size of housing units is classified on the basis of exclusive area as follows;

Scale 1: 40㎡ or less
Scale 2: Over 40㎡ ~ 60㎡ or less
Scale 3: Over 60㎡ ~ 85㎡ or less
Scale 4: Over 85㎡ ~ 102㎡ or less
Scale 5: Over 102㎡ ~ 135㎡ or less
Scale 6: Over 135㎡

In the National Housing Price Trend Survey, enumerators collect price data on a monthly basis for the sample housing units nationwide. Based on collected data, the Housing Price Index is computed.

Best regards,
