Hi, Under the National Hotel Industry Registration Status dataset (전국 호텔업 등록 현황), there seems to be a change in the relationship between the sum of the number of hotels/companies (업체수) and hotel rooms ( 객실수) under the Tourist hotel business (관광호텔업) series and its breakdowns. In 2015, the total was the sum of all 11 breakdown series (5성급, 4성급, 3성급, 2성급, 1성급, 특1등급, 특2등급, 1등급, 2등급, 3등급, 등급미정). However, the total of 2016 was just the sum of 6 of the 11 breakdown series (5성급, 4성급, 3성급, 2성급, 1성급, 등급미정). This results in a massive dip, from 907 companies in 2015 to a mere 280 companies in 2016. Is there any reason for this change? Also, the total for 2017 is blank even if 6 of the 11 breakdowns series are present (5성급, 4성급, 3성급, 2성급, 1성급, 등급미정). Has this been withheld for the meantime until the other breakdowns are released? Regards, Deon

Dear Deon Yap, Thank you for visiting the KOSIS website. In 2015, a new hotel grading system was introduced in the hotel industry. For example, five-star hotels, etc. Therefore, data from 2016 show just 6 breakdown series.
