To Whom It May Concern, I would like to enquire about the KOSIS biennial Social Survey. Are the sections 'Family' and 'Education' part of one dataset and can items from these blocks be analysed together? If yes, I would like to ask if it is possible for me to obtain the dataset for academic research purposes and also where could I download the dataset? With kind regards, Roland

Dear Roland, Thank you for visiting the KOSIS website. The Social Survey covers 10 topics including ‘Family’ and ‘Education’. For your cross-sectional analysis, you’ll have to download datasets from the MDIS website. There are two MDIS user groups. (1) Koreans living in Korea or overseas (2) Foreigners living in Korea The two groups should sign up after authentication by using a mobile phone or IPIN in order to download datasets. It will be difficult and laborious for Koreans living overseas to get authentication through IPIN because they don’t have a mobile phone of Korean service providers. However, joining a membership is required. Foreigners living overseas will not be able to sign up for which authentication is needed. Best wishes, Statistics Korea
